Home again

...So finally back in Bristol after traveling from Rome to Guernsey and then Berlin! It has been an amazing few weeks:

By the time I got to ROME it was boiling hot and 38 degrees in the shade! I was really excited about the new opening of MAXXI (which has taken ten years to build!) and headed straight there, knowing that they would have  air conditioning as well as works of art.

Herm Island (just off the coast of Guernsey) is only a mile and a half long and half a mile wide. Without any cars, it is free of any pollution. Its stillness and unspoilt beauty means it really is a little paradise.
Victor Hugo's house in Guernsey. The dark rooms of the ground floor (pictured above) slowly become lighter as they give way to sunlight, leading to the climax of the beautiful loft room (below).
