Join Spike Island to take part in the national Big Draw event on Saturday 09 October when Bristol Drawing Club will host a day of drawing activities. Throughout the day visitors will be able to take part in workshops and enjoy demonstrations by Brillustration and other Bristol based artists.
Workshop themes and times:
Speed Drawing 12 - 1pm and 3 - 4pm
Exploring Drawing Styles 1 - 2pm
Eye Trust 2 - 2:45pm
Stencilling 2 - 3:30pm
I will be coordinating the first workshop of the day. Here is a taster of what to expect:
SPEED DATING DRAWING
With Speed Dating, everyone is there to meet other people, but with Speed Drawing everyone is there to draw other people! At the beginning of this fast paced workshop each participant will be given a sketchbook and a number. After calling out the numbers each person will start at the table with that same number. From when the bell rings you have only 5 minutes to draw the person sat in front of you before it’s time to move on to the next table and draw the next person. When you have drawn everyone in the room, everyone goes round the room again and the time limit is shortened to 3 minutes, then 1 minute and finally 30 seconds! Interested? Come along and by the end of the session you can take home a series of portraits of you done by a bunch of strangers.
This is going to be a fantastic opportunity to draw, meet other local artists and just have fun!
