This year’s Elektrostatic season finale was marked with a rare opportunity to see one of the most iconic pieces of the last 50 years: Steve Reich’s Drumming, a transcendent and dramatic tapestry of pounding bongo drums, mesmerising marimbas, glassy glokenspiels and synthesized vocals, with an irresistible sense of momentum and a thunderous climax.
